Angela Adams Wright
Angela Adams Wright, MPH, AEMT, is responsible for coordinating emergency planning for Emory to include managing and maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and Hazard Identification Process for Emory University. She is also tasked with collaborating with community partners to develop, coordinate, and conduct emergency preparedness and response exercises for Emory University and Emory Healthcare to include the Serious Communicable Disease Unit (SCDU).
Prior to her current role, she served as the Program Coordinator for CEPAR. Before joining Emory, she was the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Regional Trauma Advisory Committee (RTAC) in Georgia EMS Region 10, where she contributed to drafting the operational guidelines and trauma system plan. As a graduate student at the University of Georgia’s College of Public Health concentrating in Disaster Management, she interned at UGA’s Office of Emergency Preparedness. She trained with the UGA Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and volunteered for the UGA Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).
In addition to her role for CEPAR, she is an NREMT certified Advanced EMT and serves as the Director of Operations for Emory EMS (EEMS). Additionally, she coordinates the medical planning and manages the medical volunteers for the annual AJC Peachtree Road Race and the Atlanta Publix Marathon. She is a certified American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor as well as a certified Stop the Bleed, CERT, National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), and National Disaster Life Support Foundation instructor.
Angela is a Co-Unit Leader for the newly established Emory University MRC. She is actively involved as a volunteer for the DeKalb County MRC and holds a HAM Radio Operator License. She is a member of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health.
