He Rin Im is the Threat Assessment and Intelligence Investigator with Emory University’s Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), where she conducts threat investigations, behavioral threat assessments, and intelligence analysis to support a culture of readiness, resiliency, and safety. She evaluates indicators of potential violence or harm, assesses risk, and develops recommendations for intervention and mitigation.

She brings more than ten years of combined law enforcement and military experience to her role. Prior to joining the university, she served as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, providing real-time intelligence and analytical support to investigators and law enforcement partners. She also serves as a Military Justice Paralegal in the United States Air Force Reserve, supporting legal and investigative operations within the military justice system.

Her experience spans threat identification, intelligence analysis, behavioral assessment, criminal investigations, risk management, and interagency collaboration. At Emory, she works with university departments, law enforcement agencies, and other partners to identify emerging concerns, coordinate appropriate responses, and mitigate threats to the community.

A Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve, He Rin has been recognized for her service with the Air and Space Commendation Medal and Air and Space Achievement Medal. Her multidisciplinary background enables her to bring a comprehensive, informed approach to threat assessment and risk mitigation in support of the Emory community.
