Opioid Overdose Medical Emergency

Don't wait

Call 911 or Emory EPD immediately at 404.727.6111.

If someone is suffering an alcohol or drug overdose, call 911 (on-campus 404.727.6111). In the event of an opioid overdose, there is a medication, naloxone (Narcan), that can temporarily reverse the overdose and restore breathing if administered quickly.

Georgia’s Good Samaritan laws protect the victim and the person calling for help from drug possession charges. Opioids include prescription medications as well as illegal drugs (oxycodone, hydrocodone, fentanyl, heroin, etc.).
